Apply to be a reviewer for the 2023/24 Community-University Engagement Support (CUES) Fund

Our office is currently seeking reviewers to join our 2023/24 review panel. As a reviewer, you will be joining a diverse group of UBC faculty, staff, and community leaders to review a selection of CUES fund proposals and make recommendations for funding.

CUES is a unique fund designed to support community-university partnerships that are collaborating on research, teaching, or learning projects. Funding is directed to community partners to cover costs that are not typically supported by traditional grants.

What to expect

Being a reviewer involves a one-time commitment from January 2 to February 21, 2024, which includes:

  • Joining a brief reviewer orientation (30-45 minutes) prior to beginning your evaluations
  • Reviewing approximately 10-15 CUES proposals (approximately 5-6 pages each) between January 1 and February 5, 2024 (previous reviewers have stated that this amounts to approximately one full day of work)
  • Participating in a half-day panel review session (via Zoom) on February 20 or 21

The Community Engagement team will provide all the support you need throughout the review process. Additionally, you can review previous recipients to get an idea of the types of projects we fund.

If you are interested in joining us this year, kindly complete the form below to assist us in identifying your area of expertise so that we can make the best possible match.

Thank you!!
